does anyone know the group & song title for a reggae song with "I wanna man" in the lyrics... It's a bout a woman that enters a shop where you can buy a man on specification, she lists the qualities... handsome, charming etc and at the end the shop owner reveals himself as fitting.

Somewhere in the eighties, I heard it in the Tower Record store in London Piccadilly, now long gone...

For "lights" who gave me an answer about a year ago (see http://rec.music.reggae.narkive.com/f0fg7Sll/eighties-record-with-i-wanna-man-in-lyrics) - It was the correct one. no, not a shop owner but a "man salesman" anyway. Although the conversation is only on the 12" dub version:
